At NihongoDoya, the goal is to give learners clear, accurate and genuinely useful Japanese-language study materials. All content on this site is produced and maintained by Rahul Kumar Singh — a Japanese-language student and web developer who is preparing for the JLPT himself — studying at a language school in Nepal under native Japanese teachers — and who built this site as his own study system. This policy explains how the content is created, how it is checked, how it is kept independent from advertising, and how you can report a mistake.
1. Who Writes Our Content & How
Every grammar note, vocabulary list, example sentence and study guide on this site is prepared in-house by the site's author. We do not republish copyrighted textbook material; the example sentences, reading passages and explanations are original and written specifically for this site. The workflow is:
- Plan — each topic is mapped to the standard JLPT (N5–N1) and CEFR (A1–B1) progression so lessons build logically.
- Draft — the explanation, original examples and practice are drafted, with full furigana readings on kanji.
- Reference-check — readings and meanings are verified against authoritative open dictionary data (such as the KANJIDIC2 and JMdict projects) and multiple standard grammar references.
- Review & publish — the draft is set aside, then proofread again for accuracy and clarity before the page goes live.
2. Accuracy & Natural Nuance
Japanese grammar and vocabulary are highly contextual, so we aim to explain meaning rather than offer literal word-for-word translations. Our grammar items detail:
- Clear formation rules and structure guidelines.
- Practical context — explaining why and when a pattern is used.
- The distinction between polite (です/ます) and casual (plain) speech registers.
3. Use of AI & Transparency
We believe in being open about how the materials on this site are made. Modern AI-assisted tools are part of the workflow — they help with drafting, formatting, cross-checking large data sets, and rendering the handwritten-style study cards into a clean, legible visual format. Every published explanation, example and translation is then personally reviewed, verified against dictionary references and edited by the site's author before it goes live, and corrected quickly when readers report issues. Any data sourced from open dictionaries is credited on the relevant pages.
4. Corrections & Updates
We value transparency and continuous improvement. Despite careful review, an occasional typo or unclear explanation may slip through. If a reader reports an issue through our contact channels:
- The report is logged and checked against reference dictionaries and standard curricula.
- If a correction is needed, we aim to update the affected page promptly, typically within a few days.
- Significant corrections are made openly rather than hidden, so the material stays consistent and trustworthy.
5. Editorial Independence, Advertising & Affiliates
NihongoDoya is independently run and supported by optional advertising and disclosed affiliate commissions, which help keep study resources free. Advertisers and retailers have no control over lessons, vocabulary definitions, mock questions, reviews or recommendations. We do not publish paid editorial opinions or change educational conclusions in exchange for payment.

Books are selected for their usefulness, learner level, relevance to JLPT or JFT-Basic study and the suitability of the available edition.
