Refund Policy

1. Scope & Application

This Refund Policy applies strictly to transactions where NihongoDoya is the direct merchant/seller on supported purchasing channels (such as authorized website orders or direct sales). It defines clear standards for refund requests and digital content cancellations.

Google Play Application Notice: The current Google Play version of the NihongoDoya application is provided as a free educational application without an in-app purchasing flow, does not direct users to an external payment method from within the app, and provides the learning functionality included in that release without requiring an in-app purchase. No billing or commercial transactions occur through Google Play for the included learning content, and no Google Play refund process is applicable.

2. Nature of Digital Content

NihongoDoya provides digital educational materials, mock test practice databases, and automated computer-based test simulations. Because digital goods and question banks provide immediate access upon voucher redemption or account activation, digital access cannot be "returned" in the manner of physical goods.

3. Eligibility for Unredeemed Vouchers & Direct Orders

Refund eligibility for direct NihongoDoya purchases is governed by this Refund Policy and the specific terms presented for that transaction at the time of purchase. If you purchased a digital voucher code or access package directly from NihongoDoya and have not redeemed or activated the code or accessed the digital content, you may request a refund under the following conditions:

• Unactivated Status: The digital voucher code or access entitlement must remain completely unredeemed, unactivated, and unused in our entitlement database.
• Order Verification: The request must include valid proof of purchase and transaction details from the authorized direct purchasing channel.
• Original Payment Method: Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used during order placement.

4. Non-Refundable Situations

Refunds are not granted under the following circumstances:

• Redeemed Vouchers: Once a digital voucher code has been redeemed and access entitlements have been attached to a user account.
• Accessed Materials: Once mock tests, questions, or scoring evaluations have been started or completed.
• Expired Entitlements: Expired packages or packages whose validity window has naturally elapsed.
• Personal Circumstances: Changes in personal study plans, scheduling conflicts, or examination cancellations by external exam administrators.
• Terms Violations: Accounts suspended due to fraud, account sharing, automated scraping, or breach of our Terms of Service.

Note: Nothing in this policy limits or excludes non-waivable statutory consumer protection rights that apply under mandatory local legislation.

5. Duplicate & Technical Billing Issues

If an accidental duplicate transaction occurs due to a technical error during direct checkout, please notify our team immediately. Upon verifying that multiple charges occurred for a single intended order, we will promptly refund the duplicate transaction.

6. Third-Party Marketplaces & Partners

If you acquired access, vouchers, or study materials through an authorized institutional partner, educational consultancy, or third-party platform, refund requests must be handled directly with the organization or distributor from whom you acquired the access, subject to their respective policies.
